AMNESTY TRUTH SHEET

The Truth About Amnesty
Amnesty overlooks the alien's illegal entry and ongoing illegal presence and creates a new legal status that allows the recipient to live and work in the country.

U.S. Senate

Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007
This is the highly controversial 'compromise' immigration reform bill that failed in the Senate. It drew more criticism than support from all sides in the debate.

The Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration
Reform Act of 2007

This is the "security-first" bill that was designed to draw more votes for comprehensive immigration reform. It failed a critical vote in the Senate.

GAO Testimony

Prospects For Biometric US-VISIT Exit Capability Remain Unclear
DHS has invested about $1.3 billion over 4 years and delivered basically one-half of US-VISIT, meaning that biometrically enabled entry capabilities are operating at almost 300 air, sea, and land POEs, but comparable exit capabilities are not. Moreover, the prospects for this changing are essentially as uncertain today as they were 4 years ago.

CBO Testimony

Budgetary Impact of Current and Proposed Border Security and Immigration Policies
CBO estimates that implementation of S.2611 would require $81 billion in additional appropriations over the 10-year period, resulting in $78 billion in added outlays. Economic growth would increase by only a small degree.

Violent Street Gang MS-13

Members Have Twisted Sense of Reality

Michael Cutler

September 30, 2007 -- As I am sure most of you know, I am a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, a Washington-based "think tank" that deals with a wide array of issues relating to immigration. I am currently working on a study of the violent MS-13 Street Gang that had its origins in the violent streets of El Salvador but which has subsequently spread to other Latin American countries and now figures prominently in violent crime in the United States.

As I conducted some research into a number of particularly violent members of this pernicious gang, I came upon the article I have attached below that ran a couple of years ago (on February 5, 2005) in The Washington Post. This article is significant for a couple of reasons. First of all, it illustrates just how violent this gang is and helps to illustrate how twisted the sense of reality for members of this gang is.

Many years ago, I had the pleasure of working with a partner Gerry England, with whom I attended Border Patrol Academy years earlier and went on to work with him in the Organized Crime, Drug Enforcement Task Force where we were assigned to work with a variety of other law enforcement agencies to conduct investigations of drug trafficking organizations in which aliens played a major role. (In New York and throughout much of our country, the majority of major drug gangs had an involvement with aliens.) Often we would encounter situations and individuals whose perspectives and values were so skewed that Gerry would often proclaim, "I don't know what the color of the sky is in this guy's world, but sure as hell, it isn't blue!"

Gerry and I have remained close friends and we often joke about some of the madness we encountered in the line of duty.

The second issue and one that is of at least equal significance is the fact that the murderer discussed in this article had been able to game the immigration authorities and get himself deported to Mexico when he was arrested by immigration authorities by falsely claiming to be a citizen of Mexico. In point of fact, he is a citizen of El Salvador but probably decided that it would be to his advantage to be sent to Mexico rather than his home country because then he would not have to start his return trip from El Salvador which is much further away from the United States. He apparently succeeded in not only conning immigration authorities in the United States, but authorities in Mexico as well.

This is a very important issue for you to consider. I have often aid that the difference between a "good guy" and a "bad guy" is that when the good guy get up in the morning, he goes through his stuff to figure our what he wants to wear while a bad guy goes through his stuff to figure out who he wants to be!

New York State's Governor Spitzer, former New York State Attorney General and former prosecutor, is currently pushing a proposal to provide driver's licenses to illegal aliens. There are a veritable laundry list of reasons why this is an outrageous proposal but at the very top of the list is the issue of what name should we put on those licenses? This is also the reason that I came to refer to the United States Senate "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" bill as being the "Terrorist Assistance and Facilitation Act of 2007!"

Politicians often talk about the need to provide "tamper-proof" identity documents to illegal aliens who have no verifiable way of proving their true identities. Not only is it impossible for most of them to prove their names are who they claim to be, they have no secure and verifiable way of even proving their nationality! This is why when people say to me that Mexicans are not terrorists I respond by noting two points: first of all there are Mexicans who are violent criminals and member of gangs and drug organizations. More importantly however, is the fact that there is no way of knowing someone's nationality just by looking at him (her). To state this as succinctly as I know, the question I would ask is, "What does a Mexican look like?"

I suspect that Oscar Omar Ramos-Hernandez, the murderous member of MS-13 whose twisted value system caused him to kill the mother of a two year old baby with absolutely no provocation, does not have much in the way of a formal education. He was, apparently "street wise" in knowing how to game the immigration system of our country to get himself deported to Mexico rather than his home country.

According to the newspaper article, Ramos-Hernandez simply slipped across the U.S. border with Mexico somewhere in Texas and committed more crimes.

Meanwhile, our politicians with their many degrees are no match for these street-wise international thugs.

There is a world of difference between being bright and being educated. There are many dumb lawyers, PhD's and politicians "out there" making some really bad decisions. Some of those decisions endanger our lives and jeopardize our nation's security.

We the People need to educate the politicians to keep them from allowing their foolishness to hurt or kill us!

Democracy is not a spectator sport!

Lead, follow or get out of the way!
